Guitar Rig Re-Invention Part 2 "POWER"

Ok so the second step in the Guitar Rig Re-Invention arrived last friday. If you have a pedalboard and you have pedals the pedals have to get power from somewhere right. I mean you cant have 8 different extension cords running to your board. So Voodoo Lab has the most popular and best power supply there is on the market for powering your pedals from the pedalboard itself. Its called the "Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus". So you guessed it. Thats what I got. It powers up to 8 pedals with some other cool features that are just to in-depth to explain. So this was a Large step in the pealboard segment of the Re-Invention. Everything else in this segment should be minor things.

So here is a pic showing the power supply before install.



And here is the finished install. Notice its mounted underneath the board for more space for pedals on top! ( Also newly added velcro)

MOVING!!!!!!

So this is Kelly and I's last week in Choco-town as I call it (Chocowinity). We couldnt be more excited. Its always hard to live a half an hour away from EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. We have often felt unsocial because of always having to travel so far to change clothes, or take the dog out, or pick up my tennis racket, golf clubs,ping pong paddle, guitars ....well you get the picture. So we close on the house next monday (the 28th) and then the moving will begin!! So pray for us as we have never done this before and everything is a bit scary and we have alot to do.

Doing Work Son!!!!

So this week has been CRAZY!!! A bunch of Gods people have showed their willingness to serve in a way that has just been such a blessing to see. Crosspointe Fellowship has a awesome facility and everybody almost everyday this week, after putting in a full days work at their normal job came out and did some hard manual labor to help get our facility ready for Sunday. Its still not finished but we did more than we thought we could in a few days. Thanks to everybody who worked so hard. We had some fun too!! God is good!!

Re-Invention part 1 (8/09)

PedalTrain PT-Pro with ATA Hard case!!! This thing is Amazing!!

The actual pedalboard extremely light which is of up-most importance when your church has to be somewhat portable at times. Which leads me to the ATA Flight Case. This is where all the weight is.

This case is a monster!!. Its up to my light switch! But it has wheels on one end and handle on the other for easy portabililty!!

So here is the actual board.




Nice incline to make it easier to stomp the pedals on the back row.



So next for the Pedalboard phase: Power Supply, Some more effects pedals, and some better patch cables.

Once the board is close to complete I will put my SKB PS-45 powered pedalboard for sale along with an effects pedal or 2.

Guitar Rig Re-Invention!!

And it begins!! I will be posting updates and pics of my new guitar rig as it comes in!!! So stay tuned as I totally redo my entire set-up! Piece by piece!! The first piece was ordered last night!

Wow! Ok so it has been an extremely long time since I have blogged. I apologize to both of you that read this. So much has gone on since I last did this that I wont be able to type it all out. So I will lightly recap.

-Finished MRI school
-Got a job doing MRI's
-Sold Kellys car
-Bought another car
-and as of late. I have began attending a brand new church in Greenville.

So there is alot to talk about as far as this new church goes. I am so excited and it will be something I will blog much more about in the coming weeks as the ball starts rolling quickly.

I will be up here again very soon with some pics and hopefully revive this blog!!

Recording!

So today Quentin came over and for the first time we recorded guitar tracks from my amp into the macbook for a song that we will be doing for Easter Sunday. Now normally we dont record guitar for the tracks we use at church but since Dearl wont be there Quentin and I decided to record the other guitar part into our rythym track. The result was suprisingly awesome!!! Now normally these tracks are just some type of click with a modulated pad so this is gonna be different. Anywho, We had my Vox AC-15 mic'd in my other bedroom with a Shure Sm-57. Then we were in the opposite bedroom mixing.

So what I have realized and I think Quentin has too is that it maybe be quite possible to do a fairly decent sounding recording in a reasonable amount of time. HMMMMMMMMMMMM

Small Group Fun!!

Hey everybody! I thinking how much I enjoy my small group. More than I ever thought I would really. Thursday nights are just the highlight of my work week. We just have an amazing time talking, meeting new people, playing games, and learning about the bible. I wanted to post a picture or 2 of tonights meeting and of our AWESOME game night we had a few weeks back.

Bathroom talk

So I just wanted to share a piece of my life with some of you. This is something I deal with in my life EVERYDAY!!!!!!

See my lovely wife has no clue how to get the most out of a tube of tooth paste. It never fails, every morning and night I walk into the bathroom and see a this..... yes take a moment and soke it in..........





Now do I leave it this way ....NO! I fix it in hope that she will see it is much easier to push from the bottom. So when I get done this is what it looks like.















Yes. Flat at the end. Not the top or the center.


So the objective is comment me and let me know how many of you deal with this from other family members or are you the one in your family that is driving everyone else crazy with your disregard for toothpaste etiquette.
